Thanks for this thorough look at this game. It convinced me not to get it. I know lots of folks love this depth and detail, but it is way too much of a job in my book. It does look fun for the combat - I wish that was all that it was.

We need an updated guide for 2024 with the latest dlcs changing some things. Loving the content as always, sir. Haven't played since 2021, so this helps refresh me.

ITS "DRU - ZHIN (more like J-sound, like in voyaGe , not z) - NICK" not druznick Drough-Jeanne-Nick it's from Russian midlle age history, means a member of the inner circle (friends, far relatives) of a noble FYI the lore here is a direct parallel to Kievan Rus' (midage Russia) which was mainly fighting The Golden Horde (Khuzait), and Livon order (Vlandia, sort of). And it was (as in the game also) really hard to predict- who will your next battle be with - mounted archers and light cavalry of the Horde, or heavy armored knights of the crusaders. So the logic here is to have something which will be suitable against both. The game actually translates real historical circumstances and material response really smart. Unfortunately suffering from the balancing necessity. Also mechanics of the game tend to equalize army sizes, whereas in real history some peoples took V by sheer numbers and overwhelming hit-and-run tactics (Horde-Khuzait, Mamluke-Arab), while others had technical superiority.

I made a Life Cleric/Thief Rogue for the extra bonus action heals.

And in that alternate dimension, Dragonborn were created by dragons to be slaves. Because of that the majority really don’t like dragons

the things I would do for a game that was a merging of Mount&Blade and Crusader Kings.. and in the GoT world...

They need to revamp the mercenary troops against. Bring back merc knight and swordsman

Thanks, dawg. Even after 5+ years later, this is still very helpful. I'm not very good to be honest with you, but I play it all on Very hard/ Very Hard anyways. My thinking is: If I get thrown into the middle of the Deep-end of the Pool... I have two options: I am either going to learn to swim or I am going to drown. I really enjoy it, but I'm either too aggressive, when I should stay put... Or, I am staying put, when I should be aggressive is my biggest problem, I think.. Anyways, anyways.. regardless the whole point was: Thank you! I appreciate it, dawg.

Thanks for this! I played through this game as a swords bard. I am 53 years old, and I think this might be my favorite video game of all time. I played D&D back in the '80s, then took a 35 year hiatus and started playing 5e a few years back. I really wanted to play again, but I found this game to be so amazing the first time that I just feel like playing it again is going to taint my feeling about the game. It's weird... my favorite game of all time and I just cannot get myself to play a second time. Maybe in another year or so.

*Sah, thank you Sah.* Very useful teamates to play with and yet very almost annoy fight against when theres four of them coming at you with trapper at hand n flamethrower 😮😂

6:58 you can actually save this individual, the only caveat to this is you have to know beforehand who your going to kill and exactly when your going to kill them, making it extremely difficult to save said person on a first Durge playthrough, if you decide to play Durge again saving this person is very easy

i feel bad when all merc gets low head armor pieces, they ant very good for close quarter fight when everyone just use overhead strike XD

Thank you so much for this information. I can't emphasize enough how important this was to me. Because I was so worried about failing in the game, I watched about 100 guides on how the supposedly best character is or should be built and never getting further than the Druid Grove in an attempt to min/max my play through. In the end, I realized that I ended up after many build guides with a lot of duplicate spells in my party and the members weren't well coordinated with each other. I've now learned that it shouldn't be about min-maxing, but rather just having fun. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the DND mechanics, but I still play on the "balanced" difficulty level. I actually wanted to play on the easiest difficulty level, but the multiclassing option is too important to me. For this reason I also installed two mods (more party members and up to level 20) to make it as easy as possible. I want to experience the story of the game and fighting is just a secondary consideration for me. But now I've had BG3 installed for about 6 months and I can't make any progress in the game because I first look at the corresponding guides before each level up. This creates more stress than fun. Maybe I'll be able to play through the game to the end with a character that isn't built perfectly. I still love your character optimization guides as orientation and assistance, but I shouldn't copy them in such a strictly dogmatic way. Sorry about my bad English, it's not my native language. Thank you so much for this relieving video for more fun and less stress. Looking at my personal preferences, I like Ranger (Beastmaster) and/or Monk (4 Elements) the most, even though these classes may not be the best in the game. But I just like the ideas, even if they are classified as the worse classes. Necromancers are often imagined as strong, but this goes against my personal views; so these builds are unimaginable to me... even if they were the strongest option in the game. And while it may not be the best multiclassing option in the game, I love the combination of Land Druid and Beastmaster Ranger, for example. I also tried Cleric Nature Domain and Druid in combination, in my opinion a rational combination... but in the end it didn't make sense due to a lot of overlap. The mod for more party members also allowed me to add a special thief (in addition to Astarion's skills as a Rogue Assassin / Gloomstalker Ranger). My thief is a hired Duergar from Withers and a combination of Rogue Thief and Shadow Monk on level 20 ... but I still get caught often ;-) I'm probably doing something wrong XD
